Brownjohn Constructions

Brownjohn Constructions is a family-run building company based in Springwood, started by Matthew Brownjohn in 2018. Matt was born and raised in the Blue Mountains and did his carpentry apprenticeship locally, then worked as a subcontract carpenter before earning his builder’s licence. The business has since grown to a team of six plus a group of trusted subcontract carpenters, with site foreman Dylan Barker, who has spent his whole career in custom home building.

The team builds new homes, renovations and extensions, first floor additions, and decks and pergolas, working mainly across the Blue Mountains from Penrith up to Blackheath. Recent projects include homes in Blackheath and Blaxland, along with renovations and a second storey extension in Wentworth Falls.

Many Blue Mountains homes sit on sloping or tricky blocks, and the team plans each build to suit the site and the client, rather than working from a standard design.

Matt and the team focus on fair pricing and clear communication. Clients get a detailed estimate up front, so they know what to expect, and a collaborative process from the first conversation through to handover.
